Donald Eugene Easter, 71, passed away on Feb. 20, 2024 in Tyler, TX. He was born Nov. 8, 1952 at Camp Chaffee Army Base, Fort Smith, Arkansas to Clyde E. and Gwenda L. (Polly) Easter. Don was raised in Wichita, KS and graduated from West High School in Wichita. He married Debra L. Sandora. To this union was born a daughter, Karin Sue.
As a child Don did not like yard work, but as an adult became a landscaper/ nurseryman and was contacted by many friends to consult on problems with their plants. He retired from Mustang Towers in 2014 from his job as building supervisor in Port Aransas, TX. After he retired, he moved back to Wichita, KS to care for his mother and help his aunt and uncle. In December 2019, the four of them moved to Winona, TX.
He is survived by his daughter, Karin S. Easter; grandson, Chevy Easter and granddaughter, Emma Brown of Wichita; his mother, Gwenda L. (Polly) (Easter) Reid; sister, Deborah S. Ward; nephews, Erik Ward of Augusta, KS, Jonathan Ward; and niece Jaylee Ward of Andale, KS. Don is preceded in death by his nephew, Donovan L. Ward. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Wichita, KS at a future date.
