Dona Belle Brown

Mrs. Dona Belle Brown, age 56, of Gladewater, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at her home. Dona was born in Dallas, Texas on November 14, 1962, to the late Roy Dale Songer and Lois Jean Webb Songer. She worked as a convenience store manager at numerous stores in the East Texas area for many years and was a loving wife and homemaker. When she wasn’t caring for her family, Dona loved riding horses, caring for her beloved dogs, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a person of immense strength and fortitude, with a loving and generous spirit.

Dona is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Johnny Brown of Gladewater; son, Ted William Brown of Gladewater; daughters; Marsha Ann Brown of Gladewater, Reba Sue Hernandez and husband Jorge, Sr. of Gladewater; brothers, Russell Songer and wife Cindy of Tatum, Kirk Songer of Tatum; sisters, Rebecca Allison of Kilgore, Kelli Estrella and husband Jaime of Pecos, Regina Songer and husband Dale of Lone Oak, Amber Songer of Lakeport; fifteen grandchildren, Oscar and Jonathan Coronado, Marie, Isabella and Jorge Espinosa, Clarissa, Paige, Larissa, Ted, Jr., and Lexi Brown, Jorge, Jr., Alexa, Giovanni, Karina, and Sofia Hernandez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Shannon Songer; sister, Robin Kaylee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2019, at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater, Bro. David McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Gladewater Memorial Park, with Jorge Hernandez, Jr., Oscar Coronado, Jonathan Coronado, Jorge Hernandez, Sr., Kevin Allison, and Jaime Estrella serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at the funeral home. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
