Don Robert Downs

Don Robert Down, 71, of Upshur County, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016, in Henderson, Texas. He was born September 2, 1945, in Farmington, West Virginia, to Hugh Morgan and "Minnie" Downs. He worked as a bridge painter and lived in the Farmington area for many years, as well as in East Texas. No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.

He is survived by two sons, Scott Downs and his wife, Kerri, and Don E. Downs; two grandchildren, Makaylah Downs and Hailea Downs; two brothers, Ronnie Downs and wife, Debbie, and Larry Downs and wife, Tanzy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Morgan Downs and Marion Marie McNeil Downs; two sisters, June Ann Pileggi and Norma Jean Sinisi; and one brother, Gerald Allen Downs.

No visitation is scheduled.
