Funeral services for Desmond Eugene Michael Pollard, 17, of Gilmer will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday March 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Gilmer with Bro. Mike Tuminello Mike Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Desmond was born April 9, 1996, in Los Angeles, Ca. to Larry Knox and Deborah Pollard and passed away in Dallas on Sunday, March 2, 2014. He attended Gilmer High School and played football, basketball and ran track. Desmond is survived by his mother, Deborah Pollard; father, Larry Knox and his wife, De Shawn Knox; Kyle and Jocelyne Carter; grandmother, Mary Gardner; brothers, Derrick and Devane Clark, Darrius Parker, Darrion Pollard, Larry Knox, Jr. and Fiance" Taci Hagen, Michael Knox, Denzel Taylor Knox, Edward Knox, GJ Kinne, McLane Carter and Dejan Knox; sisters, Anita Clark and husband, Amos Harris, LaSharonda Knox, Fragrance Knox; aunts, Anita and Machell Pollard; nieces, Mya and Ryan Powell, Lynise Knox and Antanise Moore; nephews, Derrick Clark, Jr. and Andre Parker; host of cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Allen Gardner. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
