Funeral services for Derek Steele Cemer, 20, of Big Sandy will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with Ross Whitney and Kelley Richmond officiating. Interment will be in Chilton Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Cemer passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in Big Sandy. Mr. Cemer was born on July 3, 1994, in Tyler, to Ronald Bennett and Leigh Ann Moore Cemer. He was a self-employed carpenter, former Junior ROTC cadet, and member of the Doerre Middle School Band in Spring, TX, Klein High School Band in Spring, TX and a member of the Cowboy Church. He is survived by his father, Ronald Cemer and stepmother, Sheila Cemer of Spring, TX; mother Leigh Ann Moore of Big Sandy; sister, Clarissa Cemer of Spring, TX; grandmother, Sue Jones of Big Sandy; Uncle and Aunt, Paul, Katie Cemer; cousins, Ethan and Emory Cemer all of Houston; Uncle and Aunt, Kelley, Angela Richmond; cousins, Lauren Allen and Clayton Richmond all of Palestine. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Grady B. Jones.
