David Richard Allen, Sr.

Funeral services for David R. Allen, Sr. 70, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M, Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Gilmer Apostolic Church with Reverend Eddie Jones and David Covey officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Allen passed away in Gilmer on Monday, May 4, 2015. He was born on October 29, 1944, in Ocala, Florida to William Clemens and Sara Ferguson Allen. Mr. Allen served in the U. S. Navy and was a Minister for the Lighthouse for Truth in Holder, Fl. He is a member of Gilmer Apostolic Church. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Ginger Allen; sons, David R. Allen Jr., Donald Allen and wife, Lisa, Doug Allen and wife, Heather all of Gilmer; daughter, DeAnn Haywood and husband, Travis, of Tampa, FL, DyAnn Allen of Gilmer; daughter-in-law, Kim Allen of Gilmer; brother, Bob Allen of Salisbury, NC; sister, Ruth Wells of Orlando, FL.; nine grandchildren, Justin Allen, Keith Allen, Daniel Allen, Michael Allen, Tori Allen, Mack Allen, Taylor Allen, Tara Allen and Miah Allen; three great grandchildren, Taylor Lee Allen, Justine Allen and Junior Allen He was preceded in death by his sons, Dwayne Allen and Daniel Allen. Pallbearers for the service will be Tony Hayden, Russell Jones, Augustin Pena, Danny Quillen, Charles Watson, Ricardo Arelland. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 6, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Apostolic Church.
