David Patrick "Pat" Bowen

Graveside services for David Patrick “Pat” Bowen, 80, of Buffalo formerly of Gladewater will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Friendship Cemetery in Gladewater. Mr. Bowen passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 in Buffalo, Texas.

Mr. Bowen was born December 10, 1939 in Gladewater to the late Alvie Allen Bowen and Lucy Gustine Long. He was retired from Shell Pipeline after 28 years. In 1961 Pat married Lynn Hanson and they spent 59 years together. Pat loved his family and spending time with them. His grandchildren, who affectionately called Pat “Poppa” were the center of his world. Pat was a competitive calf roper and continued competing until age 70. He lived and breathed calf roping and was a great horseman. He was very knowledgeable about horses and often helped train calf roping horses. Mr. Bowen will not soon be forgotten by all the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

Pat is survived by his wife Lynn Bowen; five grandchildren Rebecca Kay Spores, Chip Brandes, Coby Brandes, Maci Sanders and Bailey Loughridge; eleven great grandchildren as well many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son David Allen Bowen; sister Marlene Barnett and brother Richard Bowen.
