David Franklin Childress

David F. Childress, age 55 of Gilmer, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in Gilmer. David was born in Gilmer on March 31, 1965 to Johnny and Jo Dean Childress. He was a lifetime resident of Upshur County and he enjoyed reading People Magazine and reading books. He is survived by his sister, Betty Gipson; aunt, Patsy Guyer; and niece, Vanessa Gipson.
David is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Rex, Max, and John Childress.
Graveside services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Gilmer City Cemetery with Mr. Phil Fowler officiating.
