Darlene "MeMe Darlin" Maloney

Funeral services for Mrs. Darlene “MeMe Darlin” Maloney, 76, of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Willow Oak Baptist Church in Upshur County, Texas with Bro. Anthony Anderson officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Burial will follow at Willow Oak Cemetery.

Mrs. Maloney passed away on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 in Gilmer. She was born on September 15th, 1940 in Longview, Texas to Joe Ray and Laura Curry Sullivan. Mrs. Maloney was voted Miss Spring Hill in 1958. She was a registered nurse and a member of Willow Oak Baptist Church. Mrs. Maloney was a singer and song writer for the gospel band Victory Road.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Trae Norman of Nacogdoches and Trish and Dennis Jones of Gladewater; sister, Marilyn “Punkin” Sullivan of Gilmer; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Maloney; parents, Joe Ray and Laura Sullivan and brothers, Bob Sullivan and Billy Sullivan.

Pallbearers for the service will be Jim Sharp, Mark Jones, Trae Norman, Dennis Jones, John Weaver and Royce Threadgill, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be PO1 Vannon Alonso US Navy, Arlie Bradshaw, Ty Norman, Jerry Davidson, Steve Sullivan and David Sullivan.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
