Danny Wayne Cargil

DIANA: Services for Danny Wayne Cargil, 69, of Diana will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 6, 2017 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana with Berkley Boyd officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Mattox Cemetery in Diana. He passed away on January 2, 2017 in Longview.

Danny was born July 29, 1947 in Gilmer, Texas to Pete and Hughlene Cargil. He graduated from Diana High School in 1965, served in the U.S. Army with the 187th Assault Helicopter Company in Vietnam and later retired from Union Pacific Railroad. Danny grew up as a member of Graceton Church of Christ and was later a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana. Danny was known for his quick wit and taking care of his family, who will greatly miss him.

He is survived by his wife; Charlotte Martin Cargil, daughter: Meloney Perry-Ticer and husband Mark Ticer of Dallas, brother: Kenneth Cargil and wife Lillian of San Marcos, and grandchildren: Jessica and Sarah Perry of Dallas.

Danny was preceded in death by his wife Joy Nell Cargil, his parents, brothers: Sonny Cargil, Jimmy Cargil and Dickey Cargil.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 5, 2017, 6-8 p.m. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. They would like to extend a special thank-you to the Diana Fire Department for their quick response.
