Born on November 20, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, to parents, Virble and Doris Allen, Danny Leon Allen,62, passed away at his home on September 30, 2013. He grew up in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from W W Samuell High School in 1969. Danny had a zest for life, always looking around the corner for the next challenge that he could encounter. He was an entrepreneur in many ways. In fact, he thrived on it. He started in the trucking industry after graduating high school, worked in the insurance trade, and loved investing in real estate and business deals. He especially loved the coast, where his spirit felt drawn. He worked hard and planned even harder. His sister said he had a need for speed, and was always reaching for that next adventure. Maybe that is why he had "SCUBA STEVE," his 4-runner for the beach. He had a kinder side, too, as he enjoyed and loved his pets, particularly Crystal, his dingo dog. He was passionate about playing soccer and rarely turned down the chance for a round of golf. Danny never met a stranger. He was a crazy wonderful man, with a heart of gold. Danny was strong in his faith. From gazing to the stars fixed in their trackless courses through space to the ages of our Creator"s appointed path, he constantly kept his faith, focused on what would be his "next journey." Danny definitely lived life to the fullest, and he did it his way. He never looked back. Now, all of his pain and grief is over and he is safely home forever. He would not want us to grieve or be sad, but be glad that he"s started that new journey. He is survived by his son, Chad Leon Allen of Kilgore; daughter, Stacey Renee McKinney of Mesquite, Texas. He has two grandchildren, Mason Allen and Brittnee McKinney. He is also survived by a brother, Joey Allen of Gladewater; sister, Donna Brown of Mesquite; along with many more family and friends that will miss his kindred spirit. The world will not be the same without him for the lives that he touched. He will be dearly missed. May he glide in gently on that soft uplifting rush, holding on to "Angel"s wings." And. . .as he would say, Namaste. . . No services will be held. Please celebrate his life in a way that he touched you.
