Daniel Scott Dow

Sinton – Mr. Daniel Scott Dow passed away peacefully August 22, 2023. He was 63. Danny was born July 18, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Mary (Waller) and Horace Dow.  He grew up as a member of the Bellaire Church of Christ where he determined at an early age to spend his life as a minister of the gospel. After graduating from Sharpstown High School he attended Tyler Junior College and then Florida College where he studied God’s word at the feet of many great teachers and where he met and married the love of his life, Diana.

In 1982, Danny began preaching in Conroe, Texas where he was mentored by WR Jones.  His first full-time work was with the North Jackson Street church in Houston, Mississippi.  Followed by the Broadway church in La Porte, Texas, the Caprock church in Lubbock, Texas, the Huntington church in Huntington, Texas and he completed his work for the Lord working with the Borden Street church in Sinton, Texas. Throughout his years of teaching and preaching Danny was privileged to share the words of God with many people who he loved deeply.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Mary Dow as well as his infant son, David Scott Dow. He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Diana Brock Dow, their 6 sons, 5 daughters-in-law and 13 grandchildren: Matthew and Sarah (Everlee, Larkyn), James and Melody (Titus, Trace, Arya, Bella, Clay, Ezra), Andrew and Heather (Josiah, Amos, Levi, Abel), Timothy and Angela (Lincoln), Jonathan and Emily, Benjamin.

Danny is also survived by his sister Karolyn and her husband Pat, his brother Guy and his wife Joyce, nieces Natalie, Ashley, Emily, Kayla, Nephews Bradley and Alex, and their families.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, August 28, 2023, 1:00 PM at Shady Grove Cemetery near Gilmer, Texas.
