Dan Atchley

Funeral services for Dan Atchley, 72, of Simpsonville will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Reverend Tim Ruland. Interment will be in Chilton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Atchley passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 in a Gilmer hospital. Mr. Atchley was born April 24, 1938 in Gladewater to Jesse Compton and Edna Carroll Stafford Atchley. He was owner of Atchley Plumbing Supply in Winnsboro, member of Soules Chapel United Methodist Church, and the Methodist Men. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Lesa and Tommy Jackson of Simpsonville; brother: Holland Atchley of Midway; sister: Mildred Petty of Flint; step-mother: Mable Atchley of Quitman; brother-in-law: Clifford Taylor of Jacksonville; grandchildren and spouses: Mischell and Darin Lindsey of Simpsonville, Danna and R.J. White of Simpsonville, and Jerrad Jackson of Simpsonville; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lurline Atchley and sister: Betty Taylor. Pallbearers will be Darin Lindsey, R.J. White, Brad Fleet, Mark Case, Bart Bradley, and Chad Bradley. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, Monday, April 25, 2011 at Croley Funeral Home Gilmer.
