Dale Pickett

Mr. Dale “PeeWee” Pickett, age 62, of Gilmer, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at home. Dale was born in Alamosa, Colorado on March 9, 1956 to the late Earl and Majorie Elizabeth Butler Pickett. Dale was a very hardworking man, a jack-of-all trades and water-well worker. He loved spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren. He had an infectious sense of humor, and loved to pull pranks on his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Sidney “Red” Pickett.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Sanford and husband Joe Bob of Gilmer; sons, Robert Dale Pickett and wife Amanda of Gladewater, Randy Dale Pickett and wife Heather of Waco, Nebraska; brothers, Dennis Pickett of Gilmer, Davy Pickett of Gilmer; sister, Gayle Pickett of Gilmer; six grandchildren, Suzannah Sanford, Calvin Sanford, Christina Sanford, Patricia Sanford, Desmond and Damien; and one great-grandchild, David Harris.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer, graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County.
