Cynthia Modena Mesker

Cynthia Modena Mesker, born on October 12, 1969, in Oakland, California, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Gladewater, Texas. She dedicated her time as a life skills aide for Gladewater School District and Union Grove School District. Cynthia loved nothing more than helping others and making a positive impact in the lives of countless students and families.

Cynthia is survived by her adoring husband, Larry Mesker Sr., and her sons, Ty Mesker, Hayden Mesker and his partner Emily Porter. She leaves behind her caring parents, Billy Sr and Rosie Grooms, and her siblings, Billy Grooms Jr, Michael Grooms, and Barbara Bryant. She was also a beloved daughter-in-law to Ellen and Tom Rafferty, and she cherished her relationships with her sisters-in-law, Nedra Bullman, Emma Hancock, Ruby Jensen, and Frances Milligan. Cynthia’s legacy continues through her precious grandchildren, Haygen Porter, Emberly Mesker, and Emberlynn Mesker, along with many nieces and nephews who will always remember her strong and warm spirit.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her son, Larry Mesker Jr., who will be waiting for her with open arms.

A visitation to celebrate Cynthia’s life will be held on February 8, 2025 from 12:30 to 2 in the chapel at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas with a service following at 2. Friends and family are invited to join as we share memories and honor the incredible person she was.

Cynthia gained her angel wings and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a profound legacy of love and kindness.
