Curtis William Thompson, Sr.
Curtis William Thompson, 81, was born 13 June 1937 on the J. T. Young Farm, near Hagler, Arkansas. He went into eternity at his home in Diana, Texas on September 13, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He will be remembered as a man who was willing to help anyone, and gave of himself constantly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sallie Thompson, and two brothers, Charles Thompson and Arvis Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Hazel Thompson: his daughter Gayle Pepper and her husband Johnny: his son, Curtis Thompson, Jr.: his daughter-in-law, Konie Thompson: five grandchildren, Jennifer Pepper Davis, Keith Thompson, Phillip Thompson, Heather Thompson Ramsey and Shea Thompson: eight great-grandchildren, and many others who viewed him as a father figure.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 15 in the chapel of the Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home, 1782 U. S. Highway 259 South, Diana, Texas. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral services. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Longview.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Heartsway Hospice for the invaluable support and compassion they showed during Curtis' last days.
