Curtis Ellis

Services for Curtis Ellis, 80, of Garland will be held 1:00 P.M, Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Charles Johnson and Donnie Saulters officiating. Burial will follow at Coffeeville Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Ellis passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 in Garland He was born on July 4, 1930, in Gilmer, Texas to Tom and Shellie Martin Ellis. Mr. Ellis served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a self employed mechanic and barber. Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Hattie Mae Ellis; son Larry Ellis Gilliam and wife Cyndi; daughter Diane Dean and husband Thomas; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Hailey, Krista Cook, Jamie McFaul and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Elisha Sablan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
