Clyde Carlton Shelton

Services for Clyde Carlton Shelton, 88 of Ore City will be held 10:00 A.M, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Cowboy Church in Upshur County with Reverend Holland Atchley officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mr. Shelton passed away on Thursday January, 12, 2012 in Ore City, Texas He was born on May 29, 1923 in Upshur County to A. L. Shelton and Venie Fleet Shelton. Mr. Shelton married Cynthia Ann Monts on August 29, 1949 in Gilmer and he served in the U. S. Marine Corps. Mr. Shelton was a general foreman for Lone Star Steel before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ann Shelton of Ore City; daughter, Glenda Williams of Ore City; brothers, Milburn Shelton of Gilmer and J. R. Shelton of Longview, sisters, Juanita Keyworth of Longview, Rita Brice of Longview and Violet Beaty of Longview; grandchildren, Anthony Ashley, Desiree Ashley, Robert Ashley, Steven Ashley, Jessica Buchler and Elizabeth Chance; great grandchildren, Mason Ashley, Madison Ashley and Michelle Chance. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one half brother, and two sisters. Pallbearers are Tim Dennison, Murry Jordon, Mike Jordon, Terry Jordon, Rick Leppert, Bo Bullock, Loyd Russell and Johnny Monts The family will receive friends on Monday, January, 16, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
