Services for Mr. Clois "Glen" Shiflet, 86, of Garland formerly of Gilmer will be held 11:00 A.M, Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel and interment to follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Longview. Mr. Shiflet passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Irving. He was born September 17, 1923, in Edgewood, Texas to Claude and Eula Shiflet. Mr. Shiflet served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was employed with Southwestern Electric as a truck driver for 33 years before his retirement. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Linda Shiflet of Roanoke, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Rudy Rogers of Garland, Texas; sister, Clota Fisher of Grand Saline; six grandchildren, Shawn Neally, Staci Wilder, Sharlyn Purnell, Kevin Rogers, Sheree Howard and Stefanie Howard; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Leona Shiflet in November 2009. Pallbearers are Mike Wilder, Kevin Rogers, Dean Howard, Brian Howard, David Neally and Chad Purnell.
