Clifford Marvin Hix (Cliff) died on October 30, 2021, at his home in Big Sandy, Texas with his family. He was born in Pillager, Minnesota on November 19, 1928. His parents were George Wesley and Ruth Emaline (Wilson) Hix. He was the only remaining child of the family of seven children.
On June 7, 1947, he married Deloris Arlene Pettis, his loving wife of 74 years. He is survived by Deloris and five daughters--Bonita Deloris Holden, Marilyn Vera (Lee) Jenison, Beverly Raye Saxon, Susan Louise (Bob) Turnblad and Lori Ellen (Don) Pasqualino, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He worked on the railroad all of his life until retirement. In 1988 they moved to Big Sandy, Texas and built a house on the property next to Marilyn and her husband, Lee. Cliff was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking and loved playing cards and jokers. He was a hardworking, dedicated husband and father with a great sense of humor. He made friends everywhere he went. He will be missed by all his family and friends. He is now resting in peace after a long, fulfilling life.
A celebration of his life memorial will be held at Grace Communion Church in Big Sandy, Texas on Wednesday, November 24 2021 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
