Clayton "Red" Davis

Funeral services for Clayton “Red” Davis, 80, of White Oak, Texas will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, Texas with Reverend Pete Jones officiating. Interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas.

Mr. Davis passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Longview, Texas. He was born on January 3, 1937 in Longview, Texas to Aubrey and Ida Roman Davis. He played basketball for Baylor and Letourneau University. He was the owner and operator of East Texas Truck Equipment and was a lifetime resident of East Texas. Mr. Davis married Patsy Alexander Davis on March 7, 1959. He enjoyed working on his land and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Davis of White Oak; sons, Jeffrey D. Davis and wife, Mischelle and Tracey Alan Davis and his wife, Inga, both of White Oak and grandchildren, Shelby Richeson and her husband, Corporal Landon Richeson, USMC, Dax Davis, Jeffrey C. Davis, Jonathan D. Davis, Bobby D. Bradley and his wife Stephanie, Joseph D. Bradley, and his wife Becca and great grandchild, Blaine D. Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Ida Davis.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
