Funeral services for Claudia Lancaster Dodd 68, of Gilmer will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer with Bishop Lance Seahorn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Claudia Lancaster Dodd was born December 7, 1943, in Omaha, TX to Otis and Claudene Lancaster. She passed away April 6, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, George Dodd; her children and their spouses, David Dodd of Gilmer, Jeffrey and Emily Dodd of Gilmer, Tiffany and Stephen de Gala of Gilmer, Colin and Jeff Metler of Springville, UT; her brothers, Carson, Lawrence, and Donnie Lancaster; and 11 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and father and mother-in-law, H.M. and Laurice Dodd. Claudia was an honor graduate of Gilmer High School class of 1962 and Texas Eastern School of Nursing class of 1965. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her true love was serving others. She served her community as an American Cancer Society volunteer for many years. She served as Camp Fire leader and Club Scout den leader. She served in her church as a primary and young women"s teacher, Relief Society president, and as a temple patron and worker at the LDS Dallas Temple. She enjoyed traveling with her family, and was a friend to everyone. Her family would like express their special gratitude to Claudia"s caregivers LouAnn Kizzie, Margaret Cato, and Michelle Carr. Claudia had many caregivers through the years, and we appreciate them all. Pallbearers will be Donnie Lancaster, Carson Lancaster, Lawrence Lancaster, Chad Lancaster, Robert Duncan, Melvin Dodd and Lloyd Dodd. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2012 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
