Graveside service for Mrs. Clarine Smith Tucker, 95, of Longview, TX will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Floyd Cemetery with Bro. Pat Shannon officiating. Family will receive friends Friday, March 22, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, TX. Mrs. Tucker passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Longview.
Clarine was born on September 4, 1923, in Gilmer, TX to the late David Franklin and Myrtis (Castle) Smith and she was married to Huel Clive Tucker for 69 years. Mrs. Tucker taught school at Indian Rock School and until her death she was the oldest living Yamboree Queen, she was Queen Yam #6. Clarine was a part of the Daughter of The American Revolution Daughters of 1812, Genealogical Institute of Texas, and Society of the Decedents of Washington Army at Valley Forge. She was also a part of the Ladies’ Auxiliary Military Order of the Purple Heart of The United States of America, Inc., United Daughters of the Confederacy, National Genealogical Society, and Grand Marshal of the 2001 Yamboree Parade.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Arlan Roach and David Franklin Smith, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Pearl Smith Fowler, Mary Nell Smith Floyd, and Fayrine Smith Green.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
