CHRISTIE JO FREEMAN

On March 26, 2023, Christie Jo Freeman, passed from this world into Heaven. Christie was born in Brownsville, Texas on October 5, 1963 to Herbert and Doris Downey. She was the second youngest of five children. Her siblings are Suzanne Downey, Rudy Downey(sister-in-love, Cindy), Tim Downey, and sister, Cindy Zuniga. She lived most of her young life in Brownsville and Los Fresnos, Texas, but at one point lived a short time in Great Yarmouth, England where her father was working on the oil platforms in the North Sea. She graduated from Hallsville High School in Hallsville, Texas. Christie was the type of person that to know her was to love her. She will be greatly missed by friends and family, including Amy and Brad Timmons, and Mike and Gene Evans. Christie truly had a love for children. She worked most of her life caring for children, whether it was in a daycare, or caring for her nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to her nephews, Ben and Sean Downey, nieces, Miranda Wilson, Mariah Zuniga, nephew Zachery Zuniga, and also Amy's son Ryan Foulke. She also cared for many of her friend's children. Christie married the love of her life, Dean Freeman on December 20, 2002.  She always wanted to have children of her own, and when she had her son, Cameron in 2005, he was an answer to her prayers.  He was the light of her life. She loved being a wife and mother. She was most happy when spending time with her nieces and nephews, and especially her son, Cameron.

 Christie will be buried near her brother-in-law, David Zuniga and her nephew, Zachery, who she loved deeply.

Christie will be laid to rest on Saturday April 8, 2023 at Ashland Cemetery in Diana,Texas at  2:00 P.M.
