Cheryl Nix Gladewater " Services for Cheryl Nix, 65, of Longview, will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 10 A.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Cheryl Nix, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. She was born on January 16, 1946, in Portland, Oregon, to William and Toni Cowan. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church where for twenty years she prepared meals for the church congregation as well as snacks for the children attending day care. She deeply loved her church and especially her Sunday School Class. She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Stroud of Longview; son, David Allen of North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Melissa Allen of Longview; grandchildren and spouses, David and Erica Nix of Longview; Taylor Stroud, Joshua Allen, and Justin Allen, all of Longview; Dustin and William Allen of North Carolina; Becky of North Carolina and Jessica of Longview; five great-grandchildren. Hannah Nix, the first of her great-grandchildren, was her Nanny"s princess. She, in addition, is survived by her brothers and sister-in-law, David Cowan of Missouri; Steve and Jamie Cowan of California; Tom and Peggy Cowan of Washington; and Mike Cowan of California; sister, Jeri Brazier of California; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Mobberly Baptist Church, the Leukemia Society, or the Lymphoma Society.
