Chauncey Avis Townsend Graveside services for Mrs. Chauncey Townsend, 60, of Winona will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Terry Garrett officiating. Chauncey passed away, Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Tyler. Chauncey was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 29, 1954 to James Henry and Shirley Joyce Townsend. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter and homemaker. Chauncey enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors as well as playing guitar and keyboard. She loved animals especially birds, cats and dogs. Chauncey will be remembered for her cooking and that she never met a stranger. Her life was devoted to volunteer ministry as a Jehovah"s Witness. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her father and step-mother James Henry and Sue Townsend; brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Patricia Townsend as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Chauncey is preceded in death by her mother Shirley Poehnert Townsend. No visitation is scheduled.
