Charlie Powell

Memorial services for Charlie Powel, 66, will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Concord Cemetery with Reverend Scott Darby officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be held Friday, December 18, 2020, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Powell passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, in Pittsburg.
Charlie was born December 2, 1954, in Gilmer, Texas, to Travis and Louella Katherine Threadgill Powell. Charlie worked as a mechanic and as a logger for many years. He enjoyed working and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Powell; a brother, Andy Powell and a sister, Mae Waller.
Charlie is survived by his children, Jessy Powell and wife, Audra, Brian Powell, and LaDawn Powell; siblings, Joe Powell and wife, Janet, Edward Powell, Sue Powell, Sallie Sisk, Polly Morton and husband, Grandville; grandchildren, T. J. Powell, Josh Powell, Keith Powell, Nancy Powell; a great grandchild, Dakota Powell and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
