Charli Jo (Ormes) Jones

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that Charli Jo Jones left her earthly life behind on November 6, 2024, at her home in Hawkins, Texas at the age of 54.

Charli was born September 2, 1970, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Ronnie Dale Ormes and Sharon (Ormes) Coleman. She was raised in Harleton with her two sisters and brother while attending Harleton ISD. She held various jobs through the years, but she was the happiest being a homemaker and valued nothing more in life than being an amazing mother to her children, whom she loved above all else. Music flowed through her veins and warmed her soul. On any given day, you could find her singing and dancing with a grin from ear to ear. She truly believed laughter was the best medicine for everything. She found joy in making others laugh with silly pranks and jokes and would always fill the room with laughter wherever she went. Charli was known for having a fun and feisty personality. She would love to quote King George Strait, “I ain’t here for a long time. I’m here for a good time.”

She had a passion for animals, especially horses and dogs. She left behind her beloved fur baby boy, Klyde, who was by her side every day. They were inseparable. She treasured the holidays and any chance she could be together with her family. She was most known for her giving and generous heart, always looking to help those in need. She believed in giving back so deeply that she made sure to instill that lesson in her children. Despite the hardships she faced herself, Charli's spirit remained resilient and steadfast. She was a fighter through and through.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Howard Ormes, her Granny, Mozelle Ormes, her father, Ronnie Ormes, her sister, Kellis Stegall, and her son, Derek Swanson.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Jones, her daughter Tawny Browning and husband Matthew, her daughter Kyra Meza and husband Adrian, her step-son Tyler, her mother Sharon Coleman, sister Rhonda Johnson, brother Ronnie Dale Ormes Jr., her grandson Harrison Browning, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

A visitation will be held at Croley Funeral Home (formerly Grubbs-Loyd) in Diana on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held the following day, November 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Smyrna Methodist Church in Diana.
