Charles Thomas Shields

GILMER � Graveside services for Charles T. Shields, 83, of Gilmer will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 2, 2012 at West Mountain Cemetery in Upshur County, with Bro. Pete Dugger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Shields passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 in Tyler. He was born March 4, 1929, in Sedalia, TX to E. J. and Grace Shields. He retired from the US Air Force. Mr. Shields is survived by his Daughters: Christy Shields of Gladewater, Karren Cress of Bullard, Dollie Shields of Bullard, Marlene Shields and Charlene Shields, both of Montana; Brothers: Bobby Shields of Sherman, Ed Shields of Florida; Sisters: Maggie Hodge of Arkansas, Pat Shields of Bonham, Brenda Crawford of Dallas and 25 Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:30 � 1:30 pm prior to the service at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
