Charles O. "Coach" Bingham

Funeral services for Charles O. "Coach" Bingham, 86, of Big Sandy will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Charles Johnson officiating with interment following in Little Mound Cemetery in Upshur County, TX. Mr. Bingham passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Mr. Bingham was born October 4, 1927, in Bell County, TX to James E. and Lovie Lucille Wilkes Bingham. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy, a retired auto mechanic and body man, had lived in Big Sandy since 1966 and was a member of the First Christian Church of Pecos, TX. Mr. Bingham is survived by his wife, Joyce Bingham of Big Sandy; sons and spouses, Charles Bingham, Jr. and wife, Susie of Gilmer and Gary Bingham and wife, Linda of Gilmer; daughter, Roberta Bass and husband, Don of Gilmer; brother, Bobby Bingham; sisters, Claudie Ashbrook, Marion Phelps, Lena Lane and Betty Bingham; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; son Ronald Bingham; and granddaughter, Jennifer Bingham. Pallbearers will be Nathan Arias, George East, Chris Bingham, Cody East, Danny Keel and Don Smith. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
