Charles L. Still, Sr.

GILMER –Graveside services for Charles L. Still, Sr. 90, of Big Sandy, Texas will be held on Saturday, 29, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy, Texas with Bro. David Thornton and Bro. Danny Trimble officiating.

Mr. Still passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Big Sandy, Texas. He was born on December 27, 1926 in Kilgore, Texas to Sammy Still and Minnie Lee Gebhart Still. Mr. Still served in the U. S. Army in the 333 Infantry Division. Mr. Still was Upshur County Commissioner and County Judge and also a Farmer/Rancher. He was a member of Danville Methodist Church, served on the East Texas Council of Government, Upshur-Gregg Soil and Water Conservation District, he was a 68 year Mason, member of the Mineola Masonic Lodge #502 A.F. & A. M., and member of Sabine River Authority.

Mr. Still is survived by sons, Charles Still, Jr. and wife, Elyce of Tyler and Stephen Still of Big Sandy; daughters, Susan Still of Big Sandy and Mary Lynn Barnes and husband, Michael of Big Sandy; seven grandchildren, Jason and Melinda Still, Lori and David Acker, Jennifer Davis, Sheila and Matt Riese, Justin and Dawn Flores, Jeff Skurdal and Chris Baggett; 16 great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Tara and Conner Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Adrianne A. “Margaret” Still.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July, 28, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
