GILMER "Funeral services for Charles H. Davis, 74, of Gilmer, will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015, 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Gilmer. Reverend Wayne Norvell and Ron Minatrea will officiate under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. A graveside will follow the service at Gilmer City Cemetery. Mr. Davis passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Gilmer. He was born on March 17, 1941 in Lafayette, LA to E.L. "Buck" Davis and Estelle Johnson Davis. He received his Bachelor of Science from East Texas State College in 1964. Following 32 years of service, Mr. Davis retired from Eastman Chemical Company as supervisor of electrical and instrument design services. He later worked as a design consultant for S & B Engineering. Mr. Davis was a member of Bethesda Masonic Lodge #142 A.F. & A.M., a deacon at First Baptist Church in Gilmer and a member of the Thomas Sunday school class. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julia Marshall Davis, daughters, Amy Davis Procter and husband David of McKinney, Molly Davis of Allen; grandchildren, Katherine Procter of College Station and Madison Procter of McKinney; brother Phil Davis and wife Jane of Gilmer; sister-in-law, Margaret Davis; aunt Ruby Starks of Gilmer; three brother-in-law"s and wives, Jim and Judy Marshall, Tim and Carolyn Marshall, Bill and Loring Marshall, all of Gilmer, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Davis, and nephews Jim Davis and Edward Davis. The family wishes to thank caregivers Dr. Neeraj Sharma and nurse Anita Steelman; Dr. Lewis King and staff, CareTeam Home Health and Hospice, Good Shepherd and Regional Hospital infusion lab employees, and Right at Home aide, Renee Matsuo.
