Charles “Chuck” Randal Low, the second of three children of Charlotte Gardner Low and Marlin Low, was born in Dallas, TX, on June 23, 1950. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on August 16, 2024.

Charles graduated from high school in 1968, enlisted in the Air Force in 1969, and married Linda Campbell in 1970. He was deployed to Korea between 1971 and 1972. After his return, the couple moved frequently for the Air Force, living in Texas, Florida, Mississippi, and, for several years, in England. After leaving the Air Force in 1977, Charles and Linda settled in Bedford, Texas, where they raised their two daughters, Jennifer and Allison. He worked as a telecommunications technician until he retired in 1995. After retirement, he and Linda moved to Holly Lake Ranch in east Texas, opting for a slower pace of life.

Charles was an avid sportsman who played on a softball team for many years and in later life enjoyed playing golf and ping pong. He was passionate about baseball and looked forward to the Texas Rangers season each year.

With his strong sense of humor, breadth of experience, and knack for storytelling, he could pass the time with anyone he met. He had a curious spirit and enjoyed learning new things. Some of his hobbies included playing the guitar, photography, and vegetable gardening. He loved his friends and family and was always willing to lend a helping hand; everyone who knew him benefited from his generosity at one point or another.

Charles is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; his sister Marilyn Trull; daughters, Jennifer Ballard and husband Trey Ballard, Allison Low and partner Eric Zeidler; and grandchildren Quinn Ballard and Noah Ballard. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charlotte Gardner Low and Marlin Low, and his brother Forrest Low.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Saint Jude’s Hospital.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life is being planned. A ceremony will follow at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
