Cecil Franklin Pitts, 75, of Big Sandy, TX, died March 17, 2023, in Tyler TX.
Cecil was born July 5, 1947, in Terrell, TX to the late Robert and Mabel (Hutto) Pitts, and he had two sister and three brothers. At the age of 17, Cecil enlisted in the US Navy, and served three tours aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He was an airplane mechanic during the Vietnam War.
Cecil was known for his witty sense of humor, and his deep love for his family. His infectious smile lit up every room he walked into. Cecil married Floydell Borchardt on October 1, 2011, and their 11 years together were filled with much laughter and love.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Betty and Bobbie, his brothers Clarence and Roger, and his son, Roger Alexander Pitts.
He is survived by his wife, Floydell; his brother, John (Rachel) Pitts, of Farmer's Branch; his Son Tracy Pitts, of Pheonix, AZ, Daughter Trisha (Donnie) Bowles of Pheonix, AZ, Son Robert (Breanna) Pitts of Big Sandy, Son Zachery (Hana) Pitts of Big Sandy, Son Terry Brown of Longview, Daughter Kelly (Dean) McMullen of Grand Saline, Daughter Kara (Craig) Johnson of Edmond, OK; his grandchildren, Kennadi and Noah Ondyak, Tanner and Laikyn Pitts, Peyton and Baylei Noble, Greyson Pitts, Koriana Harrison, John and Jeff McMullen, Brittany Slover, Whittney Cloud, Hannah, Sarah, Abigail, and Caleb Johnson; Six great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
