Cayden "Boo" Gauge Whitfield, 11, of Hallsville, passed away at his home after a long battle with T-cell Leukemia. Funeral services for Cayden will be held at 10am Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Grover Cemetery in Marshall. 

Cayden was born on January 9, 2012 in Longview to Brian Whitfield and Chelsea Norton. He enjoyed the things most 11 year olds do; Fortnite, watching videos on his phone, playing with his brother and friends,  and building anything with Legos. He spent his time outside fishing, riding 4wheelers, and horses. His most favorite pet was his cat, Queen Pickles.

Cayden was preceded in death by his great grandparents; Frank and Regina (MeMe) Ramsey and Charlotte Norton.

He is survived by his parents, Brian Whitfield and Chelsea Norton and his little brother Blayne Whitfield of Hallsville; uncles, Jeffrey Norton of Midland, Britt Whitfield of Garland, and Braden Greer of Gladewater; aunt, Dena Greer of Gladewater; grandparents, Patricia Lewis of Gladewater, Travis Whitfield of Jefferson, Amber Francis and husband, Kevin of Hallsville, and Donald Currier of Avinger; great aunt, Corey Fears and husband Travis of Tatum; great uncles, Brett Bell and wife Carolyn of Brookston and Devin Bell and wife Cheryl of Waxahachie; great grandparents, Lanny Bell and wife Betty of Hawkins, Sharon Bell of Farmerville, La and David Norton of Ohio; niece, Brook Brady and husband Zach; great niece, Zoey Brady; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 6-8pm at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Children's Medical Center in Dallas in Cayden's name.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Children's Hospital in Dallas, Cayden's oncologist's: Dr. Laura Klesse, Dr. Morgan Coleman, and Dr. Kathleen Ludwig; and also Malyssa and Janet with Hospice of East Texas for their care of Cayden.

A reception will be held following the graveside services at 5705 Curtis Black Road, Hallsville, TX 75650 . All are welcome to join .
