Catherine Joan Cain

Funeral services for Catherine Joan Cain, 85, of Gladewater, will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 31, 2019, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater with Bro. Bailey Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Gladewater Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 until service time. Mrs. Cain passed away Monday, October 28, 2019, in Tyler.

Catherine was born May 15, 1934 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to the late Fred Horn and Opal Smith Horn. She moved to Gladewater at the age of 2 from Guthrie, OK with her parents and siblings. Catherine was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Gladewater. She worked for the Hancock Clinic for many years and also as the Lab Director for clinics in DeQueen, AR, Idabelle, OK and Broken Bow, OK. Catherine was a happy gentle soul; who never met a stranger. She loved children and all animals. She was always taking in orphans in need. Catherine enjoyed knitting and crocheting; she was also a wonderful cook. She will be missed by all those she leaves behind.

Catherine is survived by her son Steven Alan Cain; daughter Carla Marie Cain Kupcick; a brother Gayle A. Horn as well as many other loving family and friends.
