Carolyn Acie (Pool) Simmons

Carolyn Acie (Pool) Simmons, 85, of Gilmer returned to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 17, 2024.  She was born on September 5, 1939 in Port Neches, TX, to the late Ira Acie Pool and Della Sophronia (Autrey) Pool.

Carolyn worked and retired as a legal secretary with North Star Steel.  She was a devoted home maker to her family and attended church at Abundant Life Church in Gladewater.  Her family and her church were of utmost importance to her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Paul E. Simmons; daughter, Jamie Crittenden; son Jay and his wife Stacey; brother, Jack Pool; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Della Pool; sister, Anita Griffith and brothers, James Pool and Jerry Pool.

A memorial service celebrating Carolyn's life will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at Abundant Life Temple in Gladewater.
