Carol J. Copeland

Graveside services will be held for Carol J. Copeland, 72, of Harleton, at 10:00 AM on Friday June 5, 2020 at Smyrna Cemetery with Brother Sandy Hoover and Martin Clickard officiating under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Carol went to be with her heavenly Father on the evening of Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.

Carol was born on January 27, 1948 in Fruitvale, Texas to Mary Grant Jackson and Lee Roy Jackson. She grew up in Edgewood, Texas and graduated from Dallas High School. Following graduation, she obtained a nursing degree from Terrell School of Vocational Nursing.

Carol married Travis Copeland in August of 1971. They were happily married for 36 years and enjoyed going on camping trips and fishing together. Carol enjoyed reading and playing games with her grandchildren. She was a member of Athey Baptist Church where she was a trustee and served as treasurer for many years.

Carol will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Mary Jackson; brother, Allan Jackson; son, James Copeland and wife, Tina Copeland; and four grandchildren, Katie, Donovan, Chloe, and Dawson Copeland. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Jackson; husband, Travis Copeland; and two grandchildren, Candace and Eric Copeland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice of Longview.
