Carl Russell Hearne

Graveside services for Carl Russell Hearne, 93 of Fairfield, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday February 24, 2014, at Glade Creek Cemetery in Upshur County with Bro Dale Ott officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. He was born on May 28, 1920, in Chandler, Texas and passed away on February 20, 2014, in Fairfield, Texas. Mr. Hearne served in the U.S. Air Force and an administrator for Aldine ISD. He was a member of the Lions Club, a member and deacon of the Southern Baptist Church and also a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Hearne liked to deer hunt, travel and camp, but loved spending time with his family most of all. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Isham and husband, David of Teague; brother, Raymond Eitel of Cortez, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Mable Martin and June Farrow both of Gilmer; grandchildren, Charity and Mark Chaszar, Matthew and Kimberlyn Enloe, Nicholas Posey, Steven and Kandis Posey and Joy Posey; great grandchildren, Jared, Ian, Logan, Hannah, Genna, George, Katie, Margaret, Amy and Beau; special step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hearne was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Hearne; daughter, Donna Enloe and his parents, Rufus Eitel and Evie Smith Eitel. Pallbearers are Michael Farrow, Nicholas Posey, Steven Posey, Matthew Enloe, Larry Martin, David Isham, Mark Chaszar and Darrell Anglin. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2:00 until 4:00 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
