Carl J. Blalock

Graveside services for Mr. Carl J. Blalock, 77, of Gilmer, TX will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 1, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Elvis Atkison officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service on Friday at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Blalock passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home in Gilmer.

Carl was born April 8, 1941, in Waskom, TX to Carol and Vesta (Adcock) Blalock. For 24 years he worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He enjoyed collecting coins, deer hunting, and reading. Mr. Blalock was a devout Christian and taught Sunday school at his church. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family members.

Carl is survived by his wife, Debra Blalock of Gilmer; sons, Carl Jeffery and Brandon Lee Blalock both of Longview; step daughter, Sarah Martin of California; grandchildren, Joshua and Noah Blalock, and Bobby Carlsen; and great grandchild, Athan Blalock.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Juanice Shipman, Carolyn Spence, and Juanita Blalock.
