Canaan Matthew Smallwood

Canaan Smallwood, age 32, passed away on January 17, 2023. 

 Canaan was born on January 22, 1990 in Longview, TX to Kirby Smallwood and Lisa Foster. Canaan married Angela Fussell of Gilmer, Texas on December 15, 2014. He enjoyed everything about the outdoors, being with his family, and was the sweetest daddy in the world. Canaan loved playing Warframe and Elden Ring, as well as watch Hot Ones for hours. He was afraid of heights and roller coasters, but rode them anyways for his family. Canaan will be missed greatly by the family and friends he leaves behind.

 Canaan is survived by Angela Faith Fussell, Haven Jewel Fussell Smallwood, Atley Faith Jeffus, Jenny Lynn Jeffus, Landon David Matheson Jeffus, Lisa Mychel Smallwood, Shayna Nicole Smallwood, Kevin Dean Bryant, Jr., Sonny Chase Smallwood, Ethan Matthew Smallwood, and Zane Cole Smallwood.

He is preceded in death by "The old man," Kirby Lynn Smallwood, Kristina Suzette Foster, and Vivian Jewel Foster. 

 Graveside service for Canaan Smallwood will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Rock Springs Cemetery with Travis Fussell officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
