Michael Wade Austin Gladewater -- Memorial services for Michael Wade Austin, 59, of Longview, will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 2 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Born on June 5, 1952, in Searcy, Arkansas, he died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, majoring in journalism. He was an avid fisherman, a lover of nature, and a hard-core Arkansas Razorback fan. He spent his life as a foreman in the pipeline construction business. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Austin of Searcy, Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Chris Petty of Longview; 2 grandchildren, Jacob Petty and Mason Petty; brother, Gary Austin of Longview; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and James Snowden of Pangburn, Arkansas; niece, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Austin, and nephew, Justin Snowden. No visitation is scheduled.
