Memorial services for Bobby Gene Davis, Jr. of Lubbock, will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 10 A.M. at Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater, Texas, with Chad Thompson officiating. Bobby Davis, Jr., came into this life on June 5, 1958, in Hobbs, NM and departed on September 22, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas. Bobby was a devoted brother to four sisters, Barbara Davis Groves and husband Brad of Lebanon, MO; Kellie Davis Murrish of Odessa, Texas; Lara Rogers Zamora of Hobbs, NM, and Donice Rogers Jarrett of Eldorado, Texas. Bobby is also survived by his daughter Marinda Jill Davis of Hobbs, NM; his father, Bobby Davis, Sr., and wife Chris Davis of Pittsburg, Texas. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Sharen Lee Rogers and husband Don F. Rogers. The majority of Bobby's life was spent working in the oil industry with Bull Roger's and Allen's Casing Crews. Bobby will also be remembered for his time worked at the Prairie Rose Cafe. Bobby came to know the Lord and his salvation and gave back through his work in various church ministries. He is remembered for mentoring his nieces and nephews through his knowledge of hunting, fishing, and mechanical skills. He had a passion for gardening and loved the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to further mission activities of your choice. We are grateful for the compassion and care extended to our beloved from the professionals at UMC MICU, Southern Speciality Rehab Hospital, and to Crowne Point Hospice Care in Lubbock, Texas. We give thanks to our church families and friends for their many prayers, calls, and visits during our time of need.
