Mr. Billy R. Gibbons, age 70 of Gilmer, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Gilmer Health and Rehab. Billy was born on November 10, 1949 in Pittsburg to the late Billy James Gibbons and Mary Moore Gibbons. He graduated from Union Hill class of ’68. He was a travelling welder, and a Baptist. He enjoyed his work and the places across the country it carried him too. He loved bass fishing and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his two sons, Bryan Ray Gibbons of Texarkana, and Adrian Channing Gibbons of Temple; sister Sue Humphreys and husband Mike of Gilmer; grandsons, Aidan Fox Gibbons, Adrian Channing Gibbons, Jr.; niece, Kim Samples and husband Rusty of Rockwall; two great-nieces, Kayla Macwithey, and Jamie Parrish.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Croley Funeral Home, with Kenneth Loyd and Bro. Mike Kessler officiating. The family will receive friends one-hour prior, beginning at 9:00 AM. Private interment will be in Crossroads Cemetery in Brumley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Crossroads Cemetery Association, 417 Pecan Rd., Gilmer, TX 75644.
