Billy Joe Orms

Graveside services for Billy Joe “B. J.” Orms, 91, will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the Old East Mountain Cemetery, with Scott Adkins officiating.
Mr. Orms was born October 9, 1928, in East Mountain, to Lee Briscoe and Roxann Orms. He graduated from East Mountain Schools and he served in the Navy during the Korean War. Billy Joe married Mattye Lou, his beloved wife and enjoyed his family. He worked as a superintendent in pipe works and was a member of East Mountain Baptist Church.
Mr. Orms was preceded in death by his wife, Mattye Lou Orms; parents, Lee Briscoe and Roxann Orms; brothers, Merle and Charles Edward Orms; and sisters, Avis Connor, Jeannie Adkins, Rachel Smotherman, Betsy Lee Attaway and Ida Faye Dunnovant.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon Orms, Joey and Patty Orms, Jimmy and Shelly Orms; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and family members.
