Billy Joe Blackstone

Billy Joe Blackstone, 86 of Big Sandy passed on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Gilmer, Texas. Billy was born on September 5, 1934 in Gilmer to the late S.J. and Maggie McWhorter Blackstone.
Billy worked in the health care industry as a Respiratory Therapist and was a member of the Shady Grove Church of Christ. He is survived by his sons, Joe, Greg, and George Blackstone; one sister, Brenda Horner; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Gracie Blackstone.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, April 11, 2021, 3:00 P.M. at Shady Grove Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Norvell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service on Sunday.
