Funeral services for Billy �Jack� Gunnells, 86, of Ore City will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 7, 2014, First Baptist Church in Ore City with Reverends Ken Mills and James Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Ore City Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Grubbs Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Born on September 21, 1927, in Marshall, Texas to Henry Benjamin and Ottaline Locker Gunnells and passed away on March 4, 2014, in Ore City, Texas. Mr. Gunnells served in the U. S. Army and the National Guard. He owned Gunnells Gun Shop from 1953 to 2010 in Ore City and retired from East Texas Machine Works. Mr. Gunnells was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ore City and a member of the NRA. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Gunnells, sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Gunnells, Bobby and Earlene Gunnells, Kelvin and Sandra Gunnells; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Clifton Parker; sister-in-law and her husband, Dot and John Hodges; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Baptist Mens Association, 5351 Catron, Dallas, Texas 75227. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Grubbs Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
