Billy H. Lawson

Memorial services for Billy H. Lawson, 77, of Gilmer will be held 11:00 a.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Lawson passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Lawson was born on February 3, 1936, in Castor, Louisiana to Derwood T. and Lola May Bogan Lawson. He was a retired sheet metal worker for Industrial Roofing and Sheet Metal, had lived in the Gilmer area for 20 years and was a member of the Southern Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Carlene Lawson of Gilmer; sons and daughter-in-law, Billy Wayne Lawson of Longview and Kenneth T. and Dana Lawson of Hallsville; daughter, Carolyn Lawson of Dallas; sister, Mary Helen Pate of Castor, Louisiana; ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents; son, Samuel G. Lawson; two brothers and one sister. No formal visitation is scheduled.
