Billie Jean Richardson Gladewater " Graveside services for Billie Jean Richardson, 77, of Gladewater, will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011, at 2 P.M. at Rosedale Cemetery with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Born on August 5, 1933, in Shreveport, Louisiana, she entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 8, 2011. She was a bookkeeper/cashier for Johnny Cace"s Restaurant for many years. She especially enjoyed her work and her infectious smile was contagious to all. She was a member of the Longview First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, gardening, and giving her pets tender, loving care. Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 sons and daughter-in-law, David and Pam Abney of Longview; Brian Abney of Benton, Arkansas; Tom Abney of Lake o" the Pines; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, J.T., Austin, Cody, Brooke, and Blake; and many devoted longtime friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas V. Richardson; parents, Fred and Mable Cook, and step-mother, Emma Cook. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Longview Humane Society, 303 Enterprise Street, Longview, Texas 75605. A very caring mother, grandmother, and loyal friend, she will be sorely missed by many.
