Betty Juergens Wood

Services for Mrs. Betty Juergens Wood, 86, of Gladewater will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bailey Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the Starville Cemetery. Mrs. Wood passed away, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in Longview. Mrs. Wood was born June 22, 1929 in Belcher, Louisiana to the late John Juergens and Hattie Leeann Mitchell. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. She loved spending time with her family visiting and laughing. Mrs. Wood graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Bible Study. Her passion was studying the Lord"s word and teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Gladewater. Betty enjoyed reading the bible, sewing and quilting and had a beautiful singing voice. She will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind. She is survived by her daughter Donna Harden; son David Wood; two sisters Dorothy Wedgeworth and Ellen Lane; three grandchildren Jim Harden, Jr., John Wesley Harden and David Colt Wood; seven great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Lester E. Wood who passed away in 2013, her sister Mary Elizabeth Williams and step-father A.F. Hamm. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to services at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
